President Trump rips protester at New Hampshire rally: ‘Go home. Start exercising’

The house was packed in Manchester, New Hampshire, on Thursday for one of President Donald Trump’s trademark campaign rallies — but, as always, the event didn’t go without interruption.

Multiple protesters were removed from the Thursday rally by security, according to The Hill, and as one was being escorted out, Trump poked a little fun at him.

“That guy’s got a serious weight problem,” Trump mocked. “Go home. Start exercising.”

It was unclear exactly who Trump was referring to, and some outlets, like the Associated Press, have suggested that the person Trump saw was actually a supporter. According to The Hill, the demonstrators who were escorted out of the rally were later found to be from a “group that supports rights for Israelis and Palestinians.”

Bigger problems

“Get him out of here, please,” Trump said to security personnel as the protesters were being removed from the building.

The president then seemed to acknowledge his own weight before cracking another joke.

“Got a bigger problem than I do. Got a bigger problem than all of us,” Trump joked, according to The Washington Examiner. “Now he goes home and his mom says, ‘What the hell have you just done?'”

Take a look:

Cracking jokes

To be sure, the Examiner noted that, at a height of 6 feet 3 inches and weighing in at 243 pounds, the president can technically be classified as “obese.” But that doesn’t mean he can’t poke a little fun at the protesters trying to ruin the spirit of his rallies for his ardent supporters in New Hampshire and across the United States.

Of course, this isn’t the first time a Trump rally has been disrupted by anti-Trump demonstrators, and as the 2020 election season heats up, we can bet it won’t be the last.

At least our president has a sense of humor about it.
