President Donald Trump has been in Brussels, Belgium over the past couple of days for a summit of the member nations of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

Trump has also been meeting with leaders of the various NATO nations on the sidelines of the summit, and received a special gift in the form of a personalized Croatian national team soccer jersey from the president of Croatia, Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic.

According to Breitbart, Trump warmly received a red and white Croatian jersey bearing the number 9 and his name on the back while meeting with Grabar-Kitarovic.

The Croatian president also delivered to British Prime Minister Theresa May a similar personalized Croatian jersey bearing the number 10 and her name.

Croatia and England played each other in a pivotal semi-final match in the 2018 World Cup tournament later that evening in Russia, a match that Croatia surprisingly won in extra time by a score of 2-1, moving on to face France in the tournament’s final match over the weekend.

The U.K. Independent reported that Trump later took part in a media briefing during which he received a question about increased defense spending levels by NATO member nations from a Croatian journalist.

Prior to addressing the question, Trump first replied, “Congratulations, by the way, the soccer.”

Trump was asked if, despite his positive remarks at the summit with regard to member nations increasing their defense spending levels, he would be issuing any contradictory statements later after he left.

Trump jokingly replied to laughs from the gathered reporters, “No, that’s other people that do that. I don’t, I’m very consistent. I’m a very stable genius.”

It is unclear exactly what Trump discussed with Grabar-Kitarovic, but it most likely involved the economic and military threats posed to Europe by Russia, particularly with regard to energy production.

Contrary to liberal media reports that President Trump is despised by virtually all European leaders, it was made quite clear by the Croatian president that at least one European leader is quite fond of the American leader.
