Trump says ‘Crooked Hillary Clinton’ should enter 2020 race

With none of the Democrat 2020 presidential candidates truly catching fire and taking a commanding lead among voters, speculation that failed 2016 nominee Hillary Clinton will jump in to make another run at the White House has dramatically increased.

Clinton herself has, perhaps jokingly, helped fuel the speculation that she’s considering launching another campaign — and now, the idea of a 2016 rematch has been endorsed by none other than President Donald Trump, The Washington Examiner reports.

Clinton “tempted” to pursue rematch

Once the front-runner, former Vice President Joe Biden has seen his campaign stall out and slide downward amid frequent gaffes and mounting questions about alleged corruption involving his son. Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, another top-tier candidate, has scaled back his campaign after suffering a heart attack, leaving far-left progressive Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren as the apparent front-runner gaining momentum toward securing the nomination.

All of that and more led President Trump on Tuesday to tweet: “I think that Crooked Hillary Clinton should enter the race to try and steal it away from Uber Left Elizabeth Warren.”

He went on: “Only one condition. The Crooked one must explain all of her high crimes and misdemeanors including how & why she deleted 33,000 Emails AFTER getting ‘C’ Subpoena!”

In response to that message from the president, Clinton tweeted back, “Don’t tempt me. Do your job.”

“Obviously, I can beat him again”

Later in the day, as part of the promotional tour for The Book of Gutsy Women written by Hillary and Chelsea Clinton, the former first lady/senator/secretary of State sat down for an interview with Judy Woodruff of PBS Newshour, according to RealClearPolitics.

Asked about that tweet from the president, Clinton replied, “You know, it truly is remarkable how obsessed he remains with me. But this latest tweet is so typical of him. Nothing has been more examined and looked at than my e-mails. We all know that. So he’s either lying or delusional, or both.

“There was no subpoena, as he says in a tweet this morning. So maybe there does need to be a rematch. Obviously, I can beat him again,” she added.

“Lying and delusional”

What was that Clinton had say about being “either lying or delusional, or both”? It is Clinton herself who actually fits that description. Her emails on the unauthorized private server were subpoenaed by Republican-led House committees prior to being deleted, and it has been shown that her friends and associates in the Obama administration shielded her from any real investigation of her obvious email-related crimes.

As for her ludicrous suggestion that she could “beat him again” in a rematch, such an outcome seems implausbile at best, considering she didn’t beat him the first time around. She apparently needs reminding that winning the national combined popular vote does not equal victory, and that the presidency is actually determined by the Electoral College, which Trump won handily at 304–227.

If 2020 were to turn into a rematch of 2016 with Clinton as her party’s nominee and in the midst of the Democratic-controlled House’s ill-advised push for impeachment, Trump’s re-election seems almost assured — and probably by a bigger margin than before — so we can only add our endorsement as well: Run, Hillary, run!
