‘Whistleblower’ complaint cites report from Soros-funded organization

Democrats and the media are head over heels for the impeachment of President Donald Trump based upon a so-called “whistleblower” complaint that in turn was based solely on second- and third-hand hearsay from government officials and media reports.

One of the key media sources cited in the complaint is an organization that is heavily funded by globalist George Soros’s Open Society Foundation, Breitbart reported.

“Whistleblower” cited report from Soros-funded organization

Sections of the now-publicly released complaint contain references to a report from an “investigative journalism organization” known as the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP).

In fact, there are at least four separate references to the OCCRP report in the complaint, the first of which alleged that two “associates” of Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani had met in Kiev with a couple of top Ukrainian officials who were advisers to Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The other references include allegations that Ukraine’s prosecutor general had expressed a desire to “communicate directly” with U.S. Attorney General William Barr, that Giuliani had communicated via Skype with the former prosecutor general — who’d allegedly been fired on orders from Vice President Joe Biden — and that Giuliani’s “associates” had attempted to establish contact with Zelensky’s administration in its early days.

As an aside, the so-called “whistleblower” admitted in the complaint that they hadn’t personally witnessed or confirmed the allegations in the OCCRP report.

Links between Soros-funded OCCRP and anti-Trump Steele dossier

Breitbart’s Aaron Klein noted that the OCCRP report is based on the results of a joint investigation with Buzzfeed News, which published the infamous anti-Trump Steele Dossier in 2017. Klein noted wryly that while both organizations had jointly investigated and published similar reports on Giuliani and Ukraine, the “whistleblower” conveniently chose to only highlight the OCCRP report.

But the real bombshell came when Breitbart took a closer look at the OCCRP and discovered that the organization was quite proud of the fact that it was heavily funded, in part, by Soros’ Open Society Foundation, along with other left-leaning organizations and even a couple of U.S. taxpayer-funded aid groups.

Indeed, the Open Society Foundation was listed as the second-biggest donor to the OCCRP on financial records since 2012. Soros himself was listed as the top donor in some of those years.

Interestingly, further digging also revealed established links between Soros and the Fusion GPS-produced Steele Dossier, suggesting that Soros may have also played a role in the financial backing of the first major effort to oust President Trump from office, just as it appears he has played a role in the current effort.

Does this information change anything?

We don’t have to spell out what it means to discover that Soros money is tied to this ongoing attempt to impeach President Trump. It has already been well-documented how Soros would like nothing more than to get rid of Trump and re-impose a progressive president and globalist policies upon the United States once more.

Odds are this news will only bolster Republican skepticism of the whole affair. But don’t expect Democrats to give up on impeachment easily — they’re too committed to turn back now.
