Get ready to hear a lot more from Sarah Sanders.

The former White House press secretary decided to join the Fox News team as a paid contributor, the network announced in a press release Thursday.

Sanders’ first paid appearance will be on “Fox & Friends” on September 6.

Sanders said she is “beyond proud” to be a part of the Fox team. “FOX News has been the number one news organization in the country for 17 years running and I am beyond proud to join their incredible stable of on-air contributors in providing political insights and analysis,” Sanders said in a statement included in the release.

Political experience

Sanders resigned from the Trump administration this summer after a long and successful tenure as President Donald Trump’s press secretary.

She joined the Trump administration in the early days as deputy press secretary under then-press secretary Sean Spicer. When Spicer resigned in June 2017, Sanders was promoted to take his place, where she became a staunch defender of the president until her own voluntary resignation in June 2019.

Sanders has a plethora of political experience to draw upon aside from her tenure in the Trump administration, however, as she has served on a number of different political campaigns over the years, both at the state and national level.

Sanders was the national political director for her father, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee — also a paid Fox contributor — during his unsuccessful 2008 presidential run, which earned early victories in the Iowa caucus and in six other state primaries before eventually ending in defeat to Arizona Sen. John McCain.

Following that campaign, Sanders served as the campaign manager for Sen. John Boozeman (R-AR) in his successful effort to unseat Democratic Sen. Blanche Lincoln in 2010.

She also served as a senior adviser to Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) in his successful 2014 bid to oust incumbent Democrat Sen. Mark Pryor.

Future Arkansas governor?

While many Sanders fans hope she will eventually run for governor of Arkansas, she has largely downplayed the speculation — for now. Sources told Politico in June that she was “seriously” considering it, however.

While it is unclear if and when she will run for public office, Sanders is a welcome addition to the Fox News lineup.
