Liz Cheney says Pelosi is ‘not in control’ of far-left Democrat caucus

It has become increasingly obvious that the Democratic Party has been all but taken over by far-left radicals who openly espouse socialism and actively seek to undermine the foundational freedoms and rule of law this nation was built upon.

In that vein, Republican Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney said during a recent interview that the rise of the socialist wing of the Democratic Party proves that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi “is not in control of her caucus.”

Socialists take over the left

That remark came during an interview on Sirius XM’s Breitbart News Daily with host Alex Marlow, and Cheney — daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney — expressed her stunned amazement at the leftward shift of the Democratic Party.

Cheney began by pointing out how history has proven both the benefits of the free enterprise system that lifts people out of poverty as opposed to socialism, which inevitably fails and leads to totalitarianism, which in turn inevitably leads to a loss of freedom.

“Socialism leads to poverty,” asserted Cheney. “It leads to the kind of devastating scenes we’re seeing today in Venezuela,” she added, lamenting that there are numerous voices on the left, including 2020 presidential candidates, who argue that this is the type of system that should be imposed on Americans.

Though she admitted to being stunned and concerned by how some on the left — particularly freshmen members of the House Democratic caucus — were openly advocating for socialism, she nevertheless was glad that they were at least being honest about what they believe, which ultimately makes it easier to push back against.

Pelosi “not in control of her caucus”

As for Speaker Pelosi and the freshman Democrats — such as self-proclaimed socialist New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez or openly anti-Semitic Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar — who increasingly appear to be running the show, Cheney said their rise has “demonstrated that Speaker Pelosi is not in control of her caucus, because you’ve got the far-left radicals who have really set the agenda.”

That agenda includes ignoring hateful anti-Semitism when espoused by their own members, the open embrace of socialism, the attempted clamping down on free political speech or the refusal to protect the lives of the unborn, “it really lays out how radical they are.”

Unfortunately, in Cheney’s view, the takeover by the far-left radicals has compelled silence from the more moderate members of the Democratic caucus, as they are fearful of being shouted down or targeted in the primaries by the far-left if they speak out against what is happening.

“When you see some of the socialist Democrats, the freshmen, their response to the Democrats’ campaign arm — the (Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee) — and the DCCC saying, ‘Don’t work with people that are trying to primary our incumbents,’ and the radicals coming out and saying, ‘Alright, we’re going to stop giving money to the DCCC.’ There’s clearly a really fundamental rift in this party,” Cheney said.

Cheney went on to ask: “Are the Democrats going to be the party of JFK or the party of Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez?

“They’ve got to make that decision,” she added. “For the good of the American people, I hope that they don’t go far-left, but it looks to me that that’s where they’re going.”

Rep. Cheney is absolutely correct to note that Pelosi appears to have lost sway over her own party to the far-left socialists who would destroy not only their own Democratic Party, but also the United States as a whole, should they succeed in garnering the level of power they so obviously desire.
