Former Never-Trumper says Trump has earned his vote in 2020

During the 2016 election season, a subset of Republicans earned themselves the nickname Never-Trumpers after they insisted they’d never vote for Donald Trump, regardless of his opponent.

While some prominent Never-Trumpers continue to oppose President Trump vociferously, others have since relented and are now showing signs of support for the president based on his incredible job performance, as was revealed by an attendee at a recent Trump rally.

One former Never-Trumper was attending the recent Trump rally in Tampa, Florida, when he was approached by Fox News reporter Griff Jenkins.

“I was worried [Trump] wouldn’t be a good Republican, and honestly, he’s changed my mind a lot,” admitted the man as he waited in line ahead of the rally.

“You know the best thing he has done in my opinion are the tax cuts and the Supreme Court pick, and if he keeps doing a good job, I will — so, I didn’t vote for anybody in the very last election, but this time around I probably will vote for him,” he added.

Jenkins noted that he caught up with the same man after the rally had concluded to gauge his change of opinion once more.

“I agree with him, we need to make America strong again, we need to make America great again, and I like most of what I heard, so coming from a guy that didn’t like him to liking him now, that’s a step up, right?” stated the former NeverTrumper turned Trump supporter.

Though Democrats like Nancy Pelosi and their media allies have downplayed the significance of the tax cuts, it can’t be denied that the cuts are putting real money in people’s pockets.

Furthermore, the appointment of conservative constitutional justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court — as well as dozens more to lower courts across the country — has set America on a positive path of constitutional conservatism via the judiciary for decades to come.

This man’s journey from Never-Trumper to support of the president undermines the media narrative that President Trump is losing support and will only retain a base of hardcore supporters.

And odds are, he’s not the only one. If Trump continues to do a good job, he will likely convert many more of 2016’s Never-Trumpers into 2020 Trump voters.
