Hillary Clinton to headline LGBTQ tech event

Despite having lost her 2016 bid for the presidency in an embarrassing fashion, former secretary of State and scandal-plagued presidential candidate Hillary Clinton simply refuses to gracefully bow out of the political scene, occasionally popping up to remind most Americans why they voted for President Donald Trump.

And Clinton will soon make herself the center of attention once again, this time at a “Lesbians Who Tech” conference in New York City.

According to The American Mirror, the news that Clinton would be headlining the event, which is devoted to members of the LGBTQ community involved in the tech industry, was revealed on Twitter by the group who organized the summit.

The promotional video announcing Clinton would be speaking at the event featured several clips of Clinton making pro-LGBTQ statements during political rallies or speeches.

The video offered Clinton a “welcome to the squad” greeting and encouraged those interested in attending to “grab your pantsuit.”

According to the ad, the “Lesbians Who Tech” event scheduled for Sept. 12-14 in New York City is expected to be attended by “3,500 lesbians, LGBTQ women, non-binary, [and] allies” — plus Hillary Clinton.

Political motivations

Presumably, the purpose of Clinton headlining this event is to fire up the Democrat Party base ahead of the crucial 2018 midterm elections, but it would not be out of the question for some to ponder whether this is an attempt by Clinton to lay the groundwork for yet another run at the White House in 2020.

The LGBTQ community is a subset of the American population that largely remains in the Democrat Party’s camp, and any left-leaning politician who wishes to find success on Election Day would be wise to portray themselves as an ally to that group in order to garner their electoral support.

Clinton has most certainly sought to portray herself as an LGBTQ ally in recent years — even as she accepted donations to her family foundation from predominantly Muslim nations that routinely oppress LGBTQ people in their own cultures.

She has even spoken on the record in the past in opposition to the LGBTQ agenda.

It remains to be seen if Clinton’s newfound love for the LGBTQ community is legitimate or merely a political expedience, as she has done little throughout her political career to truly advance the interests of that particular demographic group.
