White House to cancel subscriptions to New York Times, Washington Post: Report

President Donald Trump has long sparred with the “fake news” media — and now, two of the nation’s worst offenders will no longer be welcome in his household.

White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham confirmed to Politico that the White House will not renew its subscriptions to The New York Times and The Washington Post after Trump blasted the papers in an appearance on Fox News’ Hannity on Monday.

Representatives for both papers declined to comment to Politico.

Fake newspapers

In his talk with Sean Hannity, Trump called the Times “a fake newspaper.”

“We don’t even want it in the White House anymore,” he said.

He announced that he was considering canceling his subscription to the Times and another of his common foes in the media.

“We’re going to probably terminate that and The Washington Post,” the president said. “They’re fake.”

Trump went on to lament how the papers “got it all wrong” during the 2016 election season. The president said he’d hoped the Times, his hometown newspaper, would cover him more fairly after the election was over, but nothing improved.

“You know what happened? I got covered worse!” Trump said, according to Breitbart.

Trump’s final call

By Tuesday, Trump had made his final decision. Grisham told Politico the White House “won’t be renewing” its subscriptions.

For his part, Trump can’t really be blamed for not wanting to support newspapers that only serve to criticize him.

But environmentalists should also be pleased by this news: now, there will be fewer newspapers thrown in the trash at the White House every morning.

  1. Howdy would you mind letting me know which hosting company you’re using? I’ve loaded your blog in 3 different internet browsers and I must say this blog loads a lot faster then most. Can you suggest a good web hosting provider at a honest price? Many thanks, I appreciate it!

  2. Do you mind if I quote a few of your posts as long as I provide credit and sources back to your site? My website is in the very same area of interest as yours and my visitors would genuinely benefit from some of the information you provide here. Please let me know if this okay with you. Thanks!
