Bernie goes out with a whimper

Bernie Sanders is out of the race. No debates, no rallies, no primary coverage, no press.

Despite his irascible and fiery demeanor, the most shocking thing we learned about Bernie Sanders is that he wasn’t a fighter. He went out with barely a whimper.

Does anyone even remember way back to Super Tuesday when Biden overtook Sanders? Sanders enjoyed the lead for a short time in February, but after the South Carolina primary, Biden took the lead.

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders abandoned his quest for the White House with a whimper, saying he would not be able to win the Democrat nomination. Sanders was trailing Joe Biden by more than 300 delegates before the coronavirus lockdown, and now, without rallies, Sanders concedes that he won’t be able to secure the nomination.

Sanders, a “democratic socialist,” created a young “progressive” following that wants more socialism in this country. Unfortunately, the young people in that movement did not turn out at the polls when Sanders needed them to maintain his lead over Joe Biden.

Sanders, acknowledging that Biden would not adopt his platform of socialism for all or Medicare-for-all, claimed that the Democrat party was moving in the right direction (toward socialism) in an effort to get his supporters to back Biden’s bid for the White House.

He will remain on the ballots in some states to show that his platform should influence the Democrat nominee and platform. He said he will work with the Democrats to defeat President Trump.

Biden isn’t very different from Sanders

Biden himself acknowledged Sanders’ movement and praised him for his leadership, saying that the movement he created was good for the country. Biden had previously attacked Sanders’ socialism, but now seems to be praising it, justifying President Trump’s ad asserting that there really isn’t much difference between the two candidates.
