Maxine Waters calls for mob action against Trump, slams Dem leaders who rebuked her

It was little more than a week ago when Democrat California Rep. Maxine Waters urged a gathering of supporters to essentially stalk and harass any Trump administration officials spotted out at a public place.

Just a day later she doubled down on her remarks about harassing, only to have the leaders of the Democrat Party rebuke her incitement of mob action against the president and his associates and supporters — a rebuke she didn’t take kindly to.

According to Breitbart, Waters told MSNBC in a June 23 interview that she had “no sympathy for these people” who work in Trump’s administration and that they needed to be confronted and forced to turn on their boss, the duly elected leader of the country.

“The people are going to turn on them. They’re going to protest. They’re absolutely going to harass them until they decide that they’re going to tell the president, ‘No, I can’t hang with you.’”

She added that it was beyond time to “Impeach 45!” even as she failed to name any specific high crime or misdemeanor for which impeachment charges could be brought.

But House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi was less than thrilled by Water’s inflammatory remarks and declared via Twitter — without specifically naming Waters — that “Trump’s daily lack of civility has provoked responses that are predictable but unacceptable.”

Waters’ remarks also earned a rare cross-chambers rebuke from Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer — who also declined to specifically name Waters but called her remarks “not American” and expressed his disagreement with the tactic of harassing targeted people with whom one disagrees.

In an appearance Sunday on MSNBC host Joy Reid’s weekend program, Waters dismissed the criticism from Democrat leadership.

“You know, I was surprised at Chuck Schumer, you know, reached into the other house to do that. I’ve not quite seen that done before. But one of the things I recognize, being an elected official, is in the final analysis, you know, leadership, like Chuck Schumer’s, will do anything that they think is necessary to protect their leadership,” stated Waters in an obvious dis of the establishment leaders of her own party.

“And so, what I have to do, is not focus on them. I’ve got to keep the focus on the children and the fact that this administration is endangering children in the worse kind of way,” she added, before launching into a hyperbolic rant against the border enforcement policy that temporarily separates illegal immigrant families while they are processed for illegally crossing the border.

Democrat leaders know deep down that Maxine Waters’ incessant calls for impeachment along with her blatant encouragement of harassment will not play well ahead of the midterm elections, but Waters does what she wants to do … which will likely only help Republicans in 2018 and President Trump’s re-election bid in 2020.
