Trump vents frustration about embarrassing details included in Mueller report

Make sure to let us know what you think... we now have comments turned ON below the article!

President Donald Trump was obviously quite pleased with the principle conclusions laid out in the final report of special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation — no collusion, and no obstruction.

However, aside from those topline findings, the report also contained plenty of information that portrayed the president and members of his administration in a poor light, and that reportedly has Trump none too pleased at some of the things his people shared with investigators that ended up as part of the report.

Trump lashes out via Twitter

President Trump has not been shy about expressing irritation about some of the damaging information contained in the report, a frustration made obvious to the public by a series of tweets — the first two being contemporaneous, the third coming several hours later — that the president posted over the course of the day on Friday.

Trump tweeted, “Statements are made about me by certain people in the Crazy Mueller Report, in itself written by 18 Angry Democrat Trump Haters, which are fabricated & totally untrue. Watch out for people that take so-called “notes,” when the notes never existed until needed. Because I never …”

The follow-up tweet read: “… agreed to testify, it was not necessary for me to respond to statements made in the ‘Report’ about me, some of which are total bulls–t & only given to make the other person look good (or me to look bad). This was an Illegally Started Hoax that never should have happened, a …”

Roughly nine hours later, reportedly after a round of golf at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida with conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh, Trump finished his train of thought about the Mueller report that had first begun in the morning.

Trump tweeted that the whole charade was a “big, fat, waste of time, energy and money – $30,000,000 to be exact. It is now finally time to turn the tables and bring justice to some very sick and dangerous people who have committed very serious crimes, perhaps even Spying or Treason. This should never happen again!”

Exonerated, but with embarrassing details

But apart from his tweets to the public, The Hill reported that Trump expressed his ire with some in the White House over how the media was using the embarrassing revelations in the report to further the long-running narratives of a chaotic White House in which the incompetent and impetuous president had little or no control over those who worked for him.

Indeed, the media has seized on several instances described in the report where Trump allegedly ordered someone to fire or pass messages along to somebody else, only for that person to ignore or fail to follow through on what they were asked to do.

It was reported that some allies of the president were quietly urging him to keep focused on the bigger picture drawn from the report — no collusion or obstruction — instead of lashing out over the details that don’t really mean as much in the long run.

Mueller report fuels media, Dems

Given the manner in which the media love to poke the bear, however, that may be easier said than done.

Furthermore, considering how Democrats in Congress fully intend to use every bit of information contained in the report to advance their own investigations — potentially even impeachment efforts — it is not as though the topic is going to disappear any time soon.
