First lady Melania Trump returned to the White House last weekend after being hospitalized for several days following surgery on one of her kidneys.

President Donald Trump was asked how the first lady has been doing since her return and he replied that she was “doing great.”

According to The Daily Caller, Trump paused briefly on Friday to take questions from reporters prior to embarking on the Marine One helicopter to begin his trip to deliver the commencement address at the Naval Academy graduation ceremony.

Amid a flurry of shouted questions about the on-again, off-again North Korea summit and the arrest of perverted Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, Trump was also asked about the first lady’s recovery.

“She’s doing great,” Trump replied with a smile.

The president then turned back toward the White House and pointed toward a window on the second floor of the presidential mansion, which he refers to as “the people’s house.”

“Right there. She’s doing great. Just looking at us, right there,” he said as he pointed and waved.

Then he turned away from the still-shouting reporters and headed toward the waiting helicopter.

CNN reported Thursday that the first lady’s communications director, Stephanie Grisham, had also informed them that her recovery was proceeding smoothly and noted that she was easing herself back into her role at the White House.

Grisham stated that Trump had been “having internal meetings with staff as she continues to recover.”

It has been nearly two weeks since she checked into a hospital to undergo surgery to remove an abnormal growth on her kidneys.

Hopefully her recovery from that surgery continues to go well and she is able to resume all of her normal duties as the spouse of the president in the near future.
