Texas school shooter showed troubling signs on social media

There was yet another tragic mass shooting at a high school on Friday, this time in the small town of Santa Fe, Texas, just south of Houston.

As with most other mass shooters, there were warning signs evident on the suspected shooter’s social media accounts that, in hindsight, should have caught the attention of his parents and school or law enforcement authorities.

According to The Daily Caller, 17-year-old Santa Fe High School student Dimitrios Pagourtzis is alleged to have killed 10 people and wounded at least 10 others with a revolver and shotgun during a rampage on Friday.

Though the alleged murderer’s social media pages have already been taken down, screenshots of some of the more troubling images found there had been captured first.

Those pictures appear to show a fascination with weapons like guns and knives, as well as apparent torture of small animals in at least one case.

They also revealed an apparent interest in satanism, not to mention Soviet communism, German Naziism and Japanese imperialism, specifically their Kamikaze, or “divine wind,” suicide attack tactics made infamous in World War II.

One picture featured a black duster or trench coat — possibly the one worn during the shooting — bearing a number of medals and pins, such as the Soviet hammer and sickle, a German Iron Cross, the Japanese Rising Sun, the satanic image of Baphomet and the mythical evil sea creature Cthulu.

Another picture featured a t-shirt which read “Born to Kill,” also alleged to be worn during the murderous rampage.

Still another picture — captioned “Hi f***ers” — featured a knife and handgun, and others showed images of first-person shooter video games.

A rather odd image on the alleged killer’s Instagram appeared to show a squished frog trapped on a glass door or window.

This suspected murder may have been intending to commit suicide or go down in a shootout with police following the mass shooting, but he was instead taken into custody alive, and will now face multiple charges of capital murder.

Hopefully these and other warning signs gleaned from his social media accounts and life prior to the shooting will be picked up by parents and school authorities across the nation as signs to look out for in other potential mass shooters, so they can be stopped before they turn into murderous gunmen.
