Actor and singer Kiefer Sutherland has canceled the remaining dates of his European concert tour after a fall that caused serious injuries, Fox News reported.
The 52-year-old, who is best known for his roles in TV programs like 24 and Designated Survivor, was touring for his new country album, Reckless & Me.
“Sadly I slipped on the stairs of the bus whilst traveling to Denmark and seriously injured a rib, making it difficult to breathe and impossible to sing,” Sutherland posted on Instagram. Three shows in Denmark and Sweden had to be canceled, but Sutherland said he plans to reschedule them for September or October when he returns to Europe.
“I am so sorry for any inconvenience that I have caused to the fans who have bought tickets,” Sutherland continued. “I will do everything I can to make it up to you.”
Making music
Sutherland told People magazine in 2016 that he started writing songs at age 15 and had always been interested in music, though he is better known for his television work.
“I had no intention of making an album. I hear about an actor wanting to do music and my eyes roll back too,” he said after releasing his first album, Down a Hole. “I’m completely aware of the stigma and that’s why I never did it.”
Sutherland poked fun at himself again on Twitter on Saturday, posting a video of a cat rolling down the stairs in light of his recent blunder.

Success for Sutherland
Reckless & Me was released in April, and the tour launched in May with a concert in Austin, Texas. The album reached No. 1 on the Canadian Country charts.
Sutherland has plans to play in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland in October. He said he expects to be recovered in time to play these shows.
The artist’s website says he has played over 1,000 shows throughout his career.
We can only hope he can get back on stage soon.
