Meghan McCain blasts Bill O’Reilly for ‘ghoulish’ Ginsburg tweet

Make sure to let us know what you think... we now have comments turned ON below the article!

It was announced on Friday that 85-year-old Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg had undergone surgery to remove cancerous growths from her lungs — and the left held their collectivist breath in fear for the health of their beloved liberal jurist.

Ginsburg’s advanced age and health issues are certainly an item of some concern, but when author and commentator Bill O’Reilly pointed out the underlying fear among her supporters behind that issue, he received a sharp rebuke from ABC’s “The View” co-host Meghan McCain.

O’Reilly’s Ginsburg tweet

The justice underwent a pulmonary lobectomy to remove two growths from her lungs little more than a month after fracturing three ribs in a fall.

This marks her third brush with cancer since being seated on the Supreme Court in 1993.

Subtly referencing the fact that if Ginsburg could no longer serve on the Supreme Court, she would be replaced by a nominee from President Donald Trump, O’Reilly tweeted Friday morning, “Justice Ginsburg is very ill. Another Justice appointment inevitable and soon. Bad news for the left.”

McCain responds

That tweet was apparently too much for McCain, who later in the afternoon decried how “gross and ghoulish” it was for media personalities to be speculating over the health of a public figure.

She called out O’Reilly directly, questioning his Christian faith over the insinuation that Ginsburg’s remaining time on earth could be drawing short.

Linking to O’Reilly’s tweet, McCain wrote, “There’s really nothing more gross and ghoulish than people in the media pontificating on a public persons health and the hypothetical political ramifications of their death.”

“Join me in praying for RBG to have a speedy and healthy recovery — we are Christians, aren’t we Bill?” she added.

To be sure, given the fact that McCain’s own father — Arizona Sen. John McCain — recently passed away after a grueling battle with brain cancer, it makes sense that she might be a little touchy regarding this sort of speculation.

That said, it’s not like O’Reilly was publicly wishing for Ginsburg’s death instead of recovery, and it’s disingenuous to suggest that millions of liberals aren’t already fearfully considering the exact same scenario to which O’Reilly alluded.
