President Trump’s new press secretary, Kayleigh McEnany came out swinging and the mainstream media is bloodied and whining.
If you have been watching the White House press briefings for any amount of time, you know how obnoxious, combative, and disrespectful most of the reporters have been to President Trump and his press secretaries.
McEnany, 32, first-time mother, and a graduate of Harvard law school, has infuriated the left-wing media in recent press briefings by turning the tables on them and asking them questions that shows them for what they aren’t and are. They aren’t real journalists trying to get information, they are hacks asking “gotcha” questions, seeking to embarrass the president, his administration, and now, McEnany.
In one example, a reporter asked her if she wanted to “take back” her statement that “President Trump wouldn’t let the coronavirus into the country?” McEnany turned the tables on the reporter and asked if multiple news outlets, like Vox, the Washington Post, the New York Times, and NPR would like to take back their statements about the coronavirus not being a deadly pandemic and that the government should not respond aggressively to the virus:
It seems that the press thinks that they can punch and kick, or ask “nasty” questions, as the president likes to say, and the president and anyone connected with him should just take it and not punch back. Well, the president does punch back, and so does his new press secretary.
McEnany, in a recent briefing, asked the White House press corps why they were so quick to condemn General Michael Flynn, but have not followed up on the recent developments in Flynn’s case that reveal President Obama’s involvement in the framing of Flynn. She then gave them a homework assignment so they could give her answers the next time she asked.
Watch McEnany school these reporters in this video.
You can tell she is landing some hard punches because the press has started to whine. Here are some recent headlines about McEnany.
Kayleigh McEnany’s latest briefing is a case study in gaslighting, whataboutism and false claims – Washington Post
Arrogant, inexperienced and ineffective: White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany is overmatched in her new job – Poynter
Kayleigh McEnany – the ‘acceptable’ face of Trumpism who infuriates liberals – The Gaurdian
Chris Wallace and Jonah Goldberg side with reporters
Even Chris Wallace of Fox News, and his recent guest Jonah Goldberg whined about McEnany. They took the side of the reporters and Goldberg went so far as to say that McEnany’s questions were “indefensible and grotesque.”
Chris Wallace harkened back to the good old days when he spent six years covering President Ronald Reagan, saying if McEnany had told him and Sam Donaldson what questions they should ask, things would not have gone well. Why would Wallace and Goldberg ally themselves with the despicable White House press corps?
How can they pretend that the press is somehow unbiased? Have they even seen a press briefing since, oh I don’t know, the Reagan years?
McEnany is right to call out the White House press corps just as President Trump does. If they don’t, who will? Wallace and Goldberg certainly won’t.
