Valerie Jarrett blames President Trump for Roseanne’s ‘racist’ tweet

Make sure to let us know what you think... we now have comments turned ON below the article!

Actress Roseanne Barr posted an ill-advised tweet in the early hours of Tuesday which made fun of former Barack Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett. Many on the left categorized the message as “racist,” and ABC promptly cancelled Roseanne’s popular self-titled TV sitcom in response.

Now, Jarrett and other leftists have blamed the “racist” tweet from Barr — who is a supporter of President Donald Trump as well as playing one on her hit TV show — on the president himself.

Blame it on the Ambien

The Daily Wire reported that Barr quickly deleted and apologized for her Tuesday tweet, which jokingly described Jarrett as the love child of the “Muslim Brotherhood & Planet of the Apes.”

Barr later stated that when she posted the tweet, she had been under the influence of Ambien, a powerful sleeping pill that has incredibly dangerous side effects, and is known to cause its users to perform routine activities like driving and talking — or even tweeting — without being aware of their actions.

Interestingly, other influential people who have made mistakes while under the influence of Ambien — such as former Rep. Patrick Kennedy (D-RI), who wrecked his car on Capitol Hill — have been given a pass for their actions because of the effects of the drug.

But not so with Barr.

Barr also later stated that she had been unaware that Jarrett was partially black — a little-known fact which compelled leftists to cry “racism” in relation to the “Planet of the Apes” portion of the joke.

Not taking the high road

Jarrett initially appeared to brush the matter off as no big deal and a mere “teaching moment” about racism following Barr’s tweet, but that attitude has since changed.

In a later appearance on an MSNBC townhall discussion entitled, “Everyday Racism in America,” Jarrett seemed to imply Barr’s tweet was the fault of President Trump.

“The tone does start up at the top, and we like to look up to our president and feel as though he reflects the values of our country,” Jarrett said, echoing the views of other leftists who have blamed the president for everything they feel is wrong in America.

In truth, while the tweet from Barr was wrong and shouldn’t have been posted, it was no worse than what is seen on a normal basis on Twitter from other folks on both sides political spectrum — and it had absolutely nothing to do with President Trump.

The whole situation reeks of little more than leftists exploiting an opportunity to silence a prominent Trump supporter and smear the president as “racist” once again.
