Report: Documents confirm prior suspicions about Ilhan Omar’s problematic marital history

Make sure to let us know what you think... we now have comments turned ON below the article!

The rabbit hole of questions surrounding Democrat Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar’s marital history is growing deeper and more labyrinthine, full of all sorts of twists, turns and tidbits of information that simply do not match up with the explanations offered by Omar herself.

Marriage timeline

The Washington Examiner recently published what they called an “exclusive” report that summarized the official purported timeline of Omar’s two marriages and provided evidence undermining that supposed chronology.

Omar claims to have married her current husband, Ahmed Hirsi, in a religious — not legal — ceremony in 2002. They reportedly separated in 2008.

In 2008, the Democrat legally married Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, who some have alleged is Omar’s brother, though that claim hasn’t been substantiated. They were religiously — but not legally — divorced in 2009.

In 2011, Omar and Hirsi reconciled, but it wasn’t until 2017 that Omar was legally divorced from Elmi. It was only after that, in 2018, that Omar legally married Hirsi, the father of her three children.

However, numerous legal and public documents — such as traffic tickets and other public records — appear to show that Omar and Hirsi shared the same address during the time period when they were separated and Omar was married to Elmi.

That revelation would seem to coincide with the recent discovery — made by virtue of a Minnesota campaign finance investigation — that Omar and Hirsi filed allegedly fraudulent joint tax returns in 2014 and 2015, even though they weren’t “married” at that time, and Omar was still officially married to Elmi.

Dishonesty abounds

Complicating matters further, the Examiner pointed out that during the divorce proceedings in 2017, Omar claimed to have not had any contact with Elmi since 2011 and that she had no idea of his whereabouts.

However, The Daily Caller reports that there is evidence suggesting that Elmi was actually working with Omar’s sister, Sahra Noor, who operated a consultancy business in Nairobi, Kenya. Data uncovered in the source code on the company’s website included Elmi’s name and indicated that he played a role in the creation of either or both of the company’s website and Instagram accounts.

Another complication for Omar is her claim in 2017 that she had been unable to locate him in a search of social media. However, as reported by the Daily Caller, Elmi had a presence on numerous online platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and others.

It’s about time

It is further worth noting that a recent post to the Powerline blog shows that in fact, what the Washington Examiner and Daily Caller claim to have just uncovered has actually been known by some independent investigative journalists for several years now, going all the way back to 2016 when Omar was first running for a seat in the Minnesota State House.

Unfortunately, the establishment media, the Democrat Party and Omar’s backers have studiously attempted to quash, downplay or outright dismiss the many revelations over the past three years that call into question her marital history and potentially serve as evidence of multiple crimes.

The overarching point remains, however, that Omar has been less than truthful about her past, and as investigative reporters continue to put together the various puzzle pieces, the picture that is forming does not look good at all for Omar and her future political fortunes.
