In was reported in April that Eric and Lara Trump, the son and daughter-in-law of the president, were expecting to welcome a second child into their family following the birth of their son Luke in September 2017.

On Monday, it was announced that little Luke is now a big brother; Lara gave birth on Aug. 19 to a baby girl named Carolina, the newest addition to the Trump family.

Welcome to the world

Eric Trump officially told the world of the birth of his daughter on Twitter with a short message:

[Lara] and I are excited to welcome Carolina Dorothy Trump into the world. We love you already!

His tweet was followed by a post to Instagram from Lara Trump that included a picture of the precious sleeping baby girl.

Proud Grandpa

The newborn’s grandfather, President Donald Trump, also took to Twitter the next day to express his pride and offer congratulations to his son and daughter-in-law on the new addition to the family.

“So proud!” the president added.

Happy, growing family

Carolina is President Trump’s 10th grandchild, the second to come from Eric and Lara. The president has been blessed with five grandchildren from his eldest son Donald Trump, Jr. and his ex-wife Vanessa, as well as three grandchildren from his daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Jared Kushner.

For his part, Eric Trump took the reins of the Trump Organization when his father became president.

Meanwhile, Lara Trump serves as a campaign advisor for her father-in-law’s 2020 re-election bid and has developed a reputation as one of his staunchest defenders against attacks from the left.

This is undoubtedly an incredibly joyous time for the Trump family as they welcome a new member into the fold, and their delight is certainly shared by tens of millions of Americans across the country.
