Jimmy Carter says Trump might deserve Nobel Peace prize

Many Democrats and the liberal media have fretted for 18 months that President Donald Trump’s belligerent rhetoric would result in an apocalyptic World War III that could even involve a devastating nuclear exchange.

But WWIII obviously hasn’t broken out, and Trump stands poised to possibly usher in peace on the Korean peninsula, a stunning development that former President Jimmy Carter suggested would be worthy of a Nobel Peace prize.

In a wide-ranging interview with Politico following his keynote address at the commencement ceremonies at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, Carter dropped a bombshell that utterly destroyed the liberal narrative about Trump engulfing the world in fiery conflict.

The 93-year-old former president revealed he had offered up his services to Trump as an envoy to North Korea in 2017.

Though Trump declined to take him up on that offer, Carter is nevertheless still supportive of Trump’s efforts at reaching some sort of deal with the communist regime to denuclearize and live at peace with their neighbors in the region.

Carter suggested the prior policies of past administrations involving harsh economic sanctions and a dubious threat of military conflict had only succeeded in hurting the North Korean people, not the regime’s leadership.

He suggested a different method — lifting the constant threat of attack and economic embargo in exchange for a verifiable end to North Korea’s nuclear program — could work to achieve peace on the peninsula.

If that turned out to be successful, Carter saw no reason why Trump shouldn’t be honored with the ultimate prize for peace, the Nobel.

“If President Trump is successful in getting a peace treaty that’s acceptable to both sides with North Korea, I think he certainly ought to be considered for the Nobel Peace Prize,” stated Carter.

“I think it would be a worthy and a momentous accomplishment that no previous president has been able to realize,” he added.

To be sure, Carter had his share of criticisms for President Trump on a range of other issues, but those all paled in comparison to the possibility that Trump could save the world from a potential nuclear Armageddon.

This admission from former President Carter, that Trump could indeed be worthy of a Nobel Peace prize, is absolutely devastating to the liberal narrative that Trump will plunge the world into apocalyptic chaos and conflict.
