WATCH: CNN poll shows Democrat candidates losing ground against Trump

I don’t want our readers to get the idea that we think CNN is a trusted news source, because it isn’t, CNN put out an interesting poll on December 20th and it’s terrible news for the Democrats.

It seems that all the top Democrats running for president are losing ground against President Trump.

WATCH:

At the end of the video clip, anchor Alisyn Camerota wonders why the Democratic candidates are slipping. It’s a good question.

Why are the Democrats losing ground?

Here are some possible reasons. It is easy to imagine that all of the impeachment shenanigans by the House Democrats might have affected the poll. It is also easy to imagine that the lackluster Democrat debate this week might have caused more potential voters to lose interest in the choices the Democrat party is offering.

At the same time, President Trump is winning the impeachment fight and is finally getting his USMCA trade deal, not to mention that the economy is roaring along with very low unemployment for every demographic.

Impeachment

After a frenzy of hearings in the House the last few months, House Democrats finally voted to impeach the president on December 18th. Then, on that same night, they decided not to send those impeachment articles to the Senate.

Without the articles from the House, the Senate cannot have a trial. So, for months, the Democrats have been warning that they must hurry because Donald Trump is an existential threat to the nation, and he might corrupt the 2020 election.

And then they do vote to impeach him, but now there is no hurry to get to a trial in the Senate. Maybe some people are starting to see that impeachment is pure politics.

Promises to destroy jobs

It’s also possible that blue-collar Democrats didn’t like what Joe Biden said during this week’s debate. When Biden was asked if he was willing to sacrifice hundreds of thousands of good blue-collar jobs to save the planet, he responded with a strong, “Yes!”

It is a given that Americans of any political stripe are not going to be enthusiastic when a politician promises to destroy their jobs if he or she is elected president.

Americans losing interest

The other Democrats on stage said much the same things they have been saying all along. They are still attacking the rich, even though many of them on the stage are rich. They are still proposing policies that are implausible, such as Medicare for All.

Perhaps Americans are simply losing interest in the most divisive and extreme field of candidates ever fielded by a major American political party. That’s good news for the country.
